Freighter Group, Australia’s largest supplier of heavy-duty locally made trailer solutions, is pleased to announce that it has raised $10,300 for Make-A-Wish Australia through the Freighter Group Charity Golf Day, with the money raised to go towards creating life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses.
The donation was raised at the Freighter Group Charity Golf Day held in March earlier this year, which saw over 100 participants join the event, where proceeds from tickets, raffles, auctions, and food & drink all going towards the final donation total.
Over recent years, since the business was purchased by Australian Trailer Solutions Group (ATSG), Freighter Group has been heavily involved with the local Ballarat community.
“We want to make sure that our contributions have a positive impact in the community where we have our major manufacturing site,” said Paul Buttler Freighter Group General Manager Manufacturing. “We are involved in the local community, supporting several local charities and family community events. We have a lot of workers from within the region and we feel it is truly worthwhile to support local initiatives.”
“The Freighter Group Make-A-Wish Golf Day itself was a huge success, with just over 100 participants turning up to Buninyong Golf Course at a time when it was good to see the weather clear to allow for a full morning of golf and community fun,” said Paul.
“We like to thank our suppliers for their very generous donations towards supporting the event, from sponsoring the BBQ breakfast, through to donating some amazing auction prizes and giveaways. Their donations contributed significantly to making this event a great success.”
“Also a special mention to Buninyong Golf Course for their support and contributions to make the event possible.”
Freighter Group has been a long-term supporter of the Make-A-Wish foundation, with this year’s event the 7th Freighter Group Make-A-Wish Golf Day.
“After a couple of years without being able to host the event due to the pandemic, it was fantastic to see such a great show of support from our people, suppliers and the local community.”
“With this year’s donation of $10,300, as a business, MaxiTRANS has donated well over $50,000 to the Make-A-Wish foundation over the years. It is an achievement that we as a business and local community are extremely proud of,” said Paul.
“On behalf the Ballarat branch of Make-A-Wish Australia, we would like thank Freighter Group for their ongoing support through the charity Golf Days,” said Ruth Devlin of Make-A-Wish Volunteer Branch Ballarat. “It was a hugely successful day, both financially and from the community participation. The day had a real feeling of community spirit, with people being extremely generous with their donations and coming together to show their support for the work of Make-A-Wish Australia.”
“The money raised from this event will go towards creating life-changing memories for children with critical illnesses. From receiving a family pet, to a dream holiday, the families are always extremely grateful for the wish, as it gives them some joy and a well-earned break in a time of difficult trauma and stress. It is a real bonding experience for the whole family,” said Ruth.
On behalf of Freighter Group and the Make-A-Wish Australia, we’d like to extend a huge thank again to our suppliers, our people and the local Ballarat community for making this event such a success and for their continued support,” said Paul.
